Imdad al-Jama‘ah fi Sirat Nabi al-Shafa‘ah ﷺ (Arabic)

إمداد الجماعة في سيرة نبي الشفاعة (صلى الله عليه وسلم)؛ حياة رسول الرحمة، الخاصة والعامة

Imdad al-Jama‘ah fi Sirat Nabi al-Shafa‘ah ﷺ presents a fresh and distinctive perspective within Sirah literature by exploring the personal qualities and lived example of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Drawing upon the rich treasures of the Sirah and Hadith traditions, the learned author, Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada, offers a clear and insightful portrayal of the Messenger of Islam across the different stages and circumstances of his sublime life.

The Qur’an is the complete and comprehensive guide revealed by Allah Almighty for the guidance, success and wellbeing of humanity. Alongside this divine revelation, Allah Almighty sent the greatest of teachers to convey its message, explain its meanings and embody its teachings. That teacher is the Messenger of Mercy, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, whose blessed life represents the living and practical manifestation of the Qur’an.

The life of every human being encompasses two principal dimensions: the private and the public. This pioneering work thoughtfully examines both dimensions of the Prophet’s life, presenting a balanced account of his personal circumstances, noble characteristics, relationships and public responsibilities.

The book divides the blessed life of the Prophet ﷺ into three principal phases:

1. His childhood and youth
2. His adult life before the commencement of his Prophetic mission
3. His Prophetic life, from the first revelation until his passing from this world

Each of these three phases is examined through both its private and public dimensions, resulting in six carefully structured sections. This distinctive approach enables the reader to appreciate the noble character of the Prophet ﷺ in a wide range of circumstances and to develop a fuller understanding of his conduct as an individual, family member, member of society, teacher, guide and Messenger of Allah.

As a special introductory study, the author also explores the pre-material existence of the Prophet ﷺ in the Realm of Souls (‘alam al-arwah). This includes a discussion of the creation of his blessed light and his honoured transition into this physical world (‘alam al-ajsad), providing valuable insight into an important dimension of his blessed existence in the Realm of Souls.

Written in the United Kingdom, this concise yet meticulously researched work combines authentic references with original reflection and the author’s distinctive scholarly approach. The clear and accessible presentation of this work makes it beneficial to the general reader while offering valuable material for students and scholars of the Sirah.

By bringing the private and public dimensions of the Prophet’s life together within one carefully organised study, Imdad al-Jama‘ah fi Sirat Nabi al-Shafa‘ah ﷺ represents an original and important contribution to contemporary Sirah literature.

Originally written in Urdu under the title Rasul-e Rahmat ﷺ ki Zati Zindagi, this Arabic edition brings the author’s distinctive study of the blessed life and noble character of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to the Arabic-speaking world. The translation has been completed by Dr Ibrahim Muhammad Ibrahim al-Sayyid, Head of the Urdu Department, at the Faculty of Languages of Al-Azhar University, Egypt.
